Students will
need the following for both Class Day & Graduation ceremonies:
Females—all
white dress or skirt and blouse that meets the MCSD dress
code, white shoes with a sensible heel and at least a strap across the back, simple jewelry or none—no jewelry larger than a dime!
Males—black
dress pants, white dress shirt, a tasteful black tie (no
bowties), black socks and black dress shoes—no boots and/or athletic
shoes. |

Class Day
will be held on Thursday, May 24, at
9:30 a.m., in the JVHS
Auditorium. Class Day is a long-time tradition that features
music, special presentations, a senior video, and an opportunity for
students to say goodbye to Jordan Vocational High School. A reception
to honor the graduates will be held following the ceremony. Seniors
should report to the JVHS auditorium no later than 8:45 a.m. |
Graduation will be
held on Friday, May 25, at 4:30 p.m. at the
Columbus Civic Center. This is every Senior’s goal. The
Graduation ceremony involves music,
speeches, and among other events, the delivery of the diplomas to each
individual. Seniors should report
to the designated areas of the Civic Center no later than TBA.
Students and parents will be directed what side of the Civic Center to
park on at a later date. |

Seniors, please go ahead and start taking care of all outstanding debts.
Examples: lost books that you owe for, overdue fines in the
Library, and money owed to club sponsors. Students must have paid
all outstanding debts before the first graduation practice in May, in order to be placed in the graduation lineup. |
Village
Photographers will be present at graduation to photograph students as
they receive their diploma. A complimentary proof of the picture
will be mailed to graduates about ten days after the ceremony.
Students may purchase the reasonably priced photographs. All
prints are guaranteed to be of good quality or your money will be
refunded. |

The Senior Luncheon will be held on Tuesday, May 22, at
11:30 a.m. at St. Luke United Methodist Church Ministry Center. A buffet lunch will be served and a program
is planned. The cost of this event has been included in Senior
Dues this year. Plans are being made to have a school bus
transport seniors that do not have transportation.

The Jr. Sr. Prom will be held on Friday, May 4, at the
Doubletree Hotel on Sidney Simons Boulevard. Seniors must have paid all of their
dues (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior) in order to attend this event. Tickets are on sale in Mrs.
Whitehead's room. (Note if guest is a Jordan senior they must have paid all
of their dues also in order to attend.) Guest forms are
available in Mrs. Whitehead's room. |

In order to participate in Senior activities that are
planned throughout the school year, students must have paid their Class Dues.
Senior dues should be paid to Mrs. Strickland in Room 218. If a
student has not paid their Freshman ($10.00), Sophomore ($15.00), and/or
Junior ($35.00) dues, they must pay those in addition to the Senior Dues
($60.00).

LAST DAY TO PAY SENIOR DUES: MONDAY, APRIL 11, 2012.
If a student does not want to participate in Senior
activities but wants to walk in the Graduation Ceremony, he/she must pay
a Senior Activity fee of
$10.00 in order to participate. This fee covers the costs of
Graduation ticket and program printing, decorations, and payment of the
organist. For more information, please see Mrs. Strickland in Room
218. |

Parents must plan to attend only one
of the Meetings
The Muscogee County School District
requires that a parent or guardian of all seniors participating in the
graduation ceremony meet with the principal. No graduation tickets will be issued to the graduate
until this requirement is met.
Parents of graduating seniors are required to attend an informational
meeting. In an attempt to try to accommodate parents, this meeting
will be held at two different times. Parents must attend only one
of the scheduled time slots. The meeting will be held on
Tuesday, March 27 and Wednesday. Parents may attend either
meeting. On Tuesday, March 27, the meeting will be held at
6:00 p.m.

held at 3:30 p.m. in the Jordan auditorium. Important information will be
distributed at the meetings regarding the end of the year activities.
Parents must plan to attend only one

Senior Portraits: LifeTouch is the company
that is used by Jordan for Senior pictures. Students were
contacted during the summer months to schedule appointments.

In order to participate in the Graduation Ceremony,
seniors will need to purchase a cap, gown, tassel, & diploma cover
from Balfour.
This is the company that handles our graduation items.
Beginning February 7--$58.00
Beginning April 1--$68.00
Beginning May 1--$73.00
Seniors should make sure to place your orders. |
Seniors participating in the Graduation ceremony on
Friday, May 25, will receive 15 tickets. Students do not
have to pay for these tickets. Everyone must have a ticket to get
in (including babies). Tickets will be given out
along with the cap and gown during May. |

Senior Night was held on Friday, November 4, during the last home football
game. Seniors that
participated in fall sports were honored including the band and color
guard members. A Senior Night for winter athletes is being planned. More information will be
forwarded to those athletes involved as the date gets closer. |
We are collecting senior photos and baby pictures for the
Senior Video/Slideshow. This is viewed at Class Day. All pictures
should be turned in ASAP. |
